Chris Carlson is a software developer and musician based in Richmond, Virginia. He has spent the past ten years creating interactive works for cultural institutions and brands including the National Archives, the Denver Botanic Gardens, Epson, SFMOMA, T-Mobile, and others. Carlson is also the creator of Borderlands Granular, a visual interface for granular synthesis that allows users to explore sounds within sounds. Borderlands was honored with an Award of Distinction in Digital Music and Sound Art in the 2013 Prix Ars Electronica and has been presented by the ZKM Center for Art and Media and Sónar Festival.
